New Era, New Dream, New Baoji Welcome to Baoji Development Conference

Under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the city of Baoji in Shaanxi province is exerting all its strength and following a pragmatic spirit of seizing every minute in the pursuit of excellence. Baoji is one of the cradles of Chinese civilization where the legendary Yan Emperor was believed to be born and where the Zhou and Qin dynasties flourished. The He Zun (a ritual bronze vessel) unearthed there is the oldest artifact with the written characters meaning "Middle Kingdom", that is, "China”in a bronze inscription on the container. As a rich tapestry of culture, Baoji witnessed the compilation of masterpiece books The Rites of Zhou (Zhouli) and Classic of Changes (Zhouyi) that have shaped the nation in the last 3,000-plus years. The city also enjoys the reputation of being the Holy Site of Buddha’s Bones, the Town of Bronze Ware and the Town of Folk Handicraft and Art. Baoji’s appeal is accentuated further by its rich intangible heritages.

But how will a vibrant new Baoji manifest into reality? The city stands in need of greater momentum and wisdom. 3,000 years ago, King Wu of Zhou, Ji Fa, sent far and wide to recruit men of ability and together they overthrew the Shang Dynasty after the Battle of Muye. 2,000 years ago, The liberal-minded and talent-seeking Ying Zheng, the first Emperor of Qin, conquered all of the other Warring States and unified all of China. Baoji has carried the reputation of being open-minded since ancient times. Today, it’s only ever more determined to further open up and embrace the world. The Baoji Development Conference scheduled for April 2, 2018 is sending out warm invitations worldwide.
