2018 The Sponge City international Symposium will be Held in Xi 'an, Shaanxi Province, from September 8 to 10. The conference aims at sharing experience and gathering the potential benefit, including pre-conference training, main forum and sub-forum. Top scholars from America, Europe, Oceania, Asia and Australia as well as well-known experts in China will all present to make the report.

As the first international conference with the highest academic level, the largest number of participants and organization on construction of sponge city, the conference will gather more than 100 top experts and scholars from all over the world to comprehensively summarize the experience and deficiencies and make consensus. In addition, there will be 30 representatives of pilot sponge cities in China to discuss about construction of global ecological civilization with Chinese characteristics.
