“Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening-up·Overseas Journalists in Changchun” Has Been Launched

On August 31st, the activity of “Wonderful Changchun, Hugging the World – Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening-up·Overseas Journalists in Changchun” has been officially launched. Fourteen journalists from nine countries including Russia, Germany, Japan, Korea, Turkey and so on have been invited to Changchun to explore the innovation and development of this city so that they can introduce this city to the world.

During the opening ceremony of the activity, Member of the Standing Committee and Minister of Publicity Department of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee, Zhao Ming, delivered a speech. In his speech, Zhao Ming said that in the first half of 2018, the GDP of Changchun had increased by 7.4%, about 0.6% above the national average; the fixed investment had increased by 8%, which is 2% above the national average; the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size had increased by 9.6%, around 2.9% above the national average. In addition, according to Zhao Ming, Changchun opened the junction station of CHINA RAILWAY Express in Nuremberg and established the international land ports and airports.

“Seeing is believing,” said Zhao Ming. According to Zhao Ming, in the next few days, the overseas journalists will get a closer look at the prosperity, development and environment for development of Changchun and then introduce this wonderful city to the world.

Yu Xun, Vice Minister of Publicity Department of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee hosted the Opening Ceremony. Zhang Shubin, Director of Information Office of the People's Government of Jilin Province, Director of foreign Affairs Office of Changchun Municipality, Zhang Qingxiu, the vice inspector of Changchun Press and Publication Bureau of Culture, Radio & Television and overseas journalists attended the opening ceremony.

Russian journalist Maryna Belkova delivered a speech on behalf of the overseas media. Maryna said, “It’s an-honor for me to participate in this activity. I’m very interested in the Changchun development in politics, economy, culture and and other fields.” Maryna believed that this activity would deepen her understanding of Changchun.

In the following days, the overseas journalists will visit sites such as Changchun Municipal Planning Exhibition Center, Changchun Film Studio Site Museum, the Headquarters of Yitong River Construction, CHINA RAILWAY Express and so on.

Korean journalist Park Seung Bong said,” I’m looking forward to visiting Changchun Municipal Planning Exhibition Center, because it records the history, development and change of Changchun.” Park Seung Bong believed that he would have a deeper understanding of Changchun after visited the exhibition center, and so that he would show the world the progress Changchun had made.
