The 2nd Yanhuai River Valley Grape Culture Festival Was Launched in Beijing

　　On Sep. 15th, 2018 Happy Harvest Festival & 2nd Yanhuai River Valley Grape Culture Festival, sponsored by the CPC Yanqing County Municipal Committee and directed by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Press and Publication and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture was officially launched. The festival was held when the first Chinese Farmers’ Harvest Festival was approaching. From Sep. 15th to Oct. 14th, tourists can visit Yanqing to experience husbandry activities and enjoy a joyful harvest.

　　The theme of the 2018 Happy Harvest Festival is ‘enjoy a beautiful autumn and share your joy of harvest with others’. During the opening ceremony, the living theatre inspired by the agriculture production process from planting to harvest showed how hardworking the farmers were. The aim of the festival is to build Yanqing into an eco-conserving division for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games and Beijing Expo 2019 and to show tourists a horticultural and ecological image of Yanqing.

　　The Chinese Farmers’ Harvest Festival was set up on the lunar Autumnal Equinox especially for farmers. As an important agricultural production area, Yanqing has made great achievements in modern urban agriculture, protected agriculture, and green agriculture. With the project of all-for-one tourism demonstration plots construction, the combination with tourism industry has become a striking part of agriculture development in Yanqing. This combination of tourism and agriculture will bring more incomes for local farmers and more joy for tourists.

　　In addition, as the place to host Beijing Expo 2019, Yanqing is contributing on the development of horticulture industry and the combination of horticulture and tourism industry. Yanqing has built an industrial park for horticulture, and each year this industrial park can provide about 1000 employment positions and 20000 RMB incomes for each local farmer on average.

　　The ‘One Town One Product’ theme activities are the striking point in the whole festival as they include the features of each town and provide tourists with different festival activities in different towns. For example, Jiuxian Town has provided tourists with sports meeting with its theme on harvest in order to make the participants enjoy the happiness of harvest and improve the level of national fitness at the same time. Jingzhuang Town has provided the show of land boat, one national cultural heritage of the town, to the tourists, so that tourists can enjoy the charm of cultural heritage here.

　　A must do for tourists during their trip in Yanqing is fruit picking. Yanqing has organized various fruit picking activities for tourists. The vegetable and fruit picking gardens, guesthouses and farms have together provided eight two-day and three-day travel routes. Tourists can take part in fruit picking activities, enjoy the beautiful scenery downtown, learn how to do farm work and enjoy the happiness of harvest.

　　The 2nd Yanhuai River Valley Grape Culture Festival and the 10th Beijing chrysanthemum will be launched in the same period.
