Xinzhuangbao Village - an Intoxicating Combination of Snow and Fragrance

There is nothing inherently special about snow, but snow that is scented in a refreshing burst of flavor and blooms is truly intoxicating.

At the foot of Mount Jinyang is a beautiful place called Xinzhuangbao Village. Located 20 kilometers to the northeast of the county proper and spanning an area of 5.5 square kilometers, the village is home to 870 villagers who engage in the farming of corn and fruit trees and the rearing of cattle for their main source of income.

The village is awash in apricot blossoms every spring. The white ones are as dazzling as the sunlit snow and the pink ones rosy clouds. The fragrances fill up the air like a film of smoke or mist.This is the defining feature of the village in springtime.

 “The grass dyes the world green for another year and the miles of apricot blossoms smell so nice as always.” The mention of Xinzhuangbao Village and the miles of apricot trees will only evoke sweet memories in the heart of everyone who claims Guichuan as their hometown.

Visitors to the village have without exception been enthralled with its quaint farmhouses, stunning golden and deliciously-scented apricot blossoms and ancient temples. Those who were fortunate enough to have once called it home frequently find themselves yearning for the unsheathed beauty of the village and in search of their childhood memories.

When one visits the village in spring, besides being fully immersed in its colors and fragrances, one can also visit the Grandma Temple and Nine Gods Temple. The elevated vantage point allows one a panoramic view of the apricot blossoms. Together with the crowing, gobbling and honking of birds and chickens in the background, the unique, majestic and tranquil beauty of the village is in full display.
