Shaanxi Tourism Group Celebrates 20th Birthday

Following the 40 years of reform and opening up in China and 20 years of its vigorous development, the tourism sector of Shaanxi is starting to boom.

On December 28, a ceremony was held in Xi’an to mark the 20th birthday of the Shaanxi Tourism Group.

In a report delivered at the ceremony, Party Secretary and Chairman Zhou Bing of the Shaanxi Tourism Group said under the leadership of the provincial party committee and government, the number of the company’s subsidiaries has risen to 74 from 15 in the past 20 years, with the total assets growing from 1.36 billion yuan to 20 billion yuan and the number of staff increasing to 8,500.

Over the 20 years, through mechanism innovation, the company has developed a series of popular products that feature cultural elements, dedicated itself to telling splendid local stories, explored the core competitiveness of Shaanxi tourism and fostered new drivers for high-quality growth of the local tourism industry, making tremendous contributions to the progress of Shaanxi tourism and the implementation of the “Going Global” strategy of fine local cultures. Through 20 years of strenuous efforts, the Shaanxi Tourism Group has been playing a leading role in promoting the histories and cultures of the Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang dynasties and accomplished a transition from an explorer of folk and ethnic cultures to a developer of cultural tourism along the Silk Road.

After 20 years of development, it’s time for the Shaanxi Tourism Group to make new innovations and breakthroughs. At the start of a new era, the company will remain true to its original aspiration and continue to forge ahead, gear itself to the needs of Shaanxi and the entire country while pursuing overseas expansion and continue to carry forward its glories in the construction of the Belt and Road, tell China stories well to the world and write the Shaanxi chapter in the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation.
