Maker Square International Light Art Festival in Xi'an High-tech Zone, China: "lighting up" the Chinese New Year

Recently, the International Light Art Festival of Maker Squaire in Xi'an High-tech Zone officially opened. International artists from Australia, France, Italy and the United Kingdom have jointly brought Xi'an citizens the Chinese New Year with "international style" by light artworks. 

The opening ceremony was held in the huge Crystal Ballroom, a work of artistic light. The Spanish flamenco dance, which combines dance, song and instrumental music, marked the launch of the festival. The rhythmic Spanish music performance made the whole event more international.

In the core area of the site of the the festival, one can see artworks include Forest Woods from France, Fantasy Planet from Australia and Octopus from the United Kingdom. Fantasy Planet, designed and produced by Australian artist Amanda Parer, has been exhibited in many cities around the world. Forest Woods, an environmental artwork that was on display in Lyon Lighting Festival, brought beautiful visual experiences to tourists at the festival with five tree-shape lights.

It is known that the serial activities of 2019 'Spring Festival in Xi'an, Most Cultural and Traditional' in Xi'an High-tech Zone in 2019 started from Feb 2 and will end on Feb 19. During this period, the international art light exhibition, intangible cultural heritage folklore exhibition and fashion show, centering on Maker Square and spreading to 12 streets and major commercial complexes of Xi'an High-tech Zone, will bring the most international Chinese Year to tourists in the dazzling light, and show tourists the spirit of opening-up, tolerance, pursuit and transcendence of Xi'an and the new image of this national central city and international metropolis.
