Xi'an Spring Festival Celebrations Ignite Frenzy over China's Culture

The activities held during the Spring Festival holidays in 2019 under the theme of "Spring Festival in Xi'an, Most Cultural and Traditional" have provided an opportunity to showcase the strong appeal of the star city on China's social media.

As a core zone designated to host the cultural celebrations, Qujiang New District known as the roots and soul of the history and culture of Xi'an, has been turned into a "new gate" into the city.

During the holidays, the "Modern Chinatown" Street in Datang Culture and Art Leisure Area received 3.8727 million visits alone. Tourists from home and abroad came to experience Chinese history and culture that date back around 1,000 years while the celebrations for the Chinese Lunar New Year ignited a global frenzy over the ancient culture of the mighty Tang Dynasty.

Among foreign tourists, Muhammad Rahman Khan was impressed by the festive decorations around the city, while Nicle Thorson was fascinated with lantern shows. Hassan spent the festival with his friends at Tang Paradise and the family of Mohiuddin Chowdhury celebrated the Lunar New Year at the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda. The photos they shared on social media helped promote the "Spring Festival in Xi'an, Most Cultural and Traditional" activities, displayed the city's charm and also provided the world with a better understanding of Xi'an and China.
