What is the future of urban travel? What impact does the travel industry have on our planet and our communities? And how can destinations embrace challenges and turn them into concrete business opportunities?

The best minds in the industry will address these questions head-on at our conference Tomorrow’s Urban Travel on 9 October 2019 in Copenhagen, which will be held at the same time as the C40 Mayor’s summit.

You’ll hear from thought leaders including:

· Elizabeth Becker, award-winning journalist, unfolding the consequences of tourism; how it affects different cities – the challenges and the opportunities.

· Michael Bennett, co-founder of the Transformational Travel Council, introducing how travel can be a catalyst for seeing the world through new eyes and how travel experiences can make dramatic impacts in the world.

· Natalia Rincon, computer science engineer and founder of Chaos Architects, presenting how crowd insights and city analytics can transform the travel industry and create new opportunities in the era of digital tourism.

· Elena Simons, social entrepreneur, introducing the growing Untourist Movement. Through initiatives like Marry an Amsterdammer for the Day, the movement invites visitors to make an active contribution to the city, its inhabitants and the world in a fun and beneficial way.

· Matt Orlando, chef and owner of Amass, presenting his ambition to work with sustainability as a of mind rather than just a physical action.

· Christopher Paling, senior lecturer in environmental management at the Manchester Metropolitan University, addressing the sustainable future of aviation.

The conference will implement several eco-friendly initiatives and thereby lead the way for a more sustainable future within the convention industry.
