Beijing Yanqing: shuttle buses powered by hydrogen fuel cell have been applied to Beijing Expo 2019, and will serve the coming Beijing 2022

Recently, two domestic buses powered by hydrogen fuel cell have appeared in the shuttle buses serving Beijing Expo 2019, which have attracted the attention of tourists. According to the introduction of Yanqing Science and Technology Committee, the two shuttle buses will carry out hydrogen fuel vehicle operation guarantee experiments and hydrogen energy science popularization within the area of Beijing Expo 2019, to sum up experience for the application of such kind of buses to 2020 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Yanqing station, Beijing 2022, and various test events of it. During Beijing 2022, these shuttle buses with green, carbon neutral and environmental-friendly characteristics will undertake various types of event support tasks such as athlete service, etc. Yanqing District will also operate hydrogen fuel cell public transportation lines.

According to the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Yanqing Park, Yanqing District and China Power International Development Limited have jointly planned to build the Yanqing Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park to carry out equipment R&D, production, technology application and training around the green hydrogen energy industry, and to accelerate the pace of industrialization of green hydrogen energy. At the same time, China Power International Development Limited will accelerate the construction of two hydrogen refueling stations and one supporting hydrogen plant in Yanqing District, to provide guarantee for 2020 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Yanqing station, Beijing 2022, and transportation in Yanqing District. Yanqing will also use Beijing 2022 as an opportunity to form a core industry in green hydrogen production, efficient storage and transportation technology and equipment research and development of hydrogen energy technology, and to actively explore green transportation application technology.
