Athletes’ Village of the 7th CISM Military World Games Opens on October 11th

In the morning of October 9th, 2019, Athletes’ Village Operations Management Committee of the 7th CISM Military World Games held a press conference and explicated their design ideas of village’s construction, the detailed conditions of each functional areas and work arrangements of the committee’s service center.

The 7th Military World Games is the only one that hosts all competitions in one city. By following the standard of large-scale games, Wuhan established athletes’ village for the games, which is located in the southeastern of Huangjiahu Lake, about 40 minutes’ drive to 34 venues. The construction project was officially started in March, 2017, completed and put into operation in April, 2019 and opened on October 11th, 2019.

The Athletes’ village can be divided by its functions into four sections: residence area, public area, logistics areas and operational area. In residence area, three-star rooming services are provided, and the per-capital living space is 25 square meters. In addition, rooms have a wide range of equipment and daily necessities, which means that athletes can only take their luggage to live in. For each meal, athletes’ dining hall will provide over 100 cuisines including Chinese foods, western foods, halal foods and others and it can accommodate 4,500 people to have meals at the same time. In operational area, a culture square and a fitness center are set for meeting athletes’ needs of entertainments and trainings during the games. The athletes’ village is full of scientific and technological sense by equipping with 5G network, free WIFI, and intelligent facilities including facial recognition, and indoors inspecting robots for a safety living environment.
