Jiange County, belonging to the city of Guangyuan, is located in the northern part of Sichuan Province. This county, known as "the gate to the north of Sichuan and the throat of Sichuan Road", got its name from the 30-mile road built by Zhu Geliang, the Prime Minister of Shu Han Dynasty.
The No.1 Pass in China--Jianmen Pass, Sword Gate Pass in Chinese, is standing upright in the ridges, steep cliffs tower on its both sides, with 72 peaks rising into the clouds. As Jianmen Pass has always been one of the main passes into Sichuan Province, it has had such an important military role that many rulers in the past have fought here to control the pass.
The saying "Getting to the top of the Jianmen Sichuan Road is more difficult than reaching the sky." is always used to describe the danger of the Jianmen Sichuan Road with a history of more than 2700 years which was built in the pre-Qin Period. Its long history and well-preserved ruins make it a true wonder of the world and more precious than the world-renowned ancient Roman road. Jianmen Sichuan Road is more than a hundred kilometers long, with a spacious road made by flat green-blue stone, and 8005 ancient cypresses standing on both sides of the road which are the most powerful witness and important symbol of the energy of this ancient road.
Descending down the ancient road, you will come to Jiange County. Make sure you don't miss the Jianmen Tofu, which is snow white in color, tender and delicate in taste. Furthermore, there is a "Jianmen Tofu Feast" with a variety of dishes made by tofu with different tastes. “Jianmen Tofu Feast” is awarded "one of the top ten Sichuan cuisine brands ".
