Opening Ceremony of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Institute of Modern Agricultural Development and the SCO Countries Regional Agricultural Cooperation Website is held in Shaanxi province

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Institute of Modern Agricultural Development and the SCO Countries Regional Agricultural Cooperation Website were unveiled at the Yangling Agricultural Hi-tech Industries Demonstration Zone in Shaanxi on July 6, 2020.

The institute will establish cooperation with research organizations and experts both at home and abroad and focus on application-oriented academic research and decision-making consultation. It aims to strengthen cooperation and exchange with regional countries in modern agriculture and serve the agricultural development of SCO member states and agricultural base construction of the SCO. The services it provides range from industrial development research, coordinated technological innovation, technological integration demonstration to senior personnel training and exchange, all aimed at promoting modern agricultural development in SCO countries.

The Chinese language page of the SCO Countries Regional Agricultural Cooperation Website

The SCO Countries Regional Agricultural Cooperation Website has multiple sections and provides services in Chinese, English and Russian. It will establish an online agricultural technology education and training platform for SCO member states, publish information regarding agricultural cooperation among the countries, promote research exchange and provide remote agricultural technique training. The “Education and Training” section provides on-demand and livestream services, giving trainees easy access to online training programs.

The institute and the website are expected to inject a strong momentum to the development of modern agriculture in SCO countries and contribute to the global agricultural technology innovation and modern agriculture development.
