"Most Beautiful Streets" Improving the Environment of Street Blocks in Chengdu, China

Recently, Chengdu Municipal Commission of Urban Management has awarded twenty-two streets as "Most Beautiful Streets". This includes Xingke North Street, Sizhu Road, Yangliu River Street, and Jingrong Street etc. Xingke North Street is where characteristic shopping area sits. The street is filled with rich fragrance and shades of green. The characteristic shopping area, on the other hand, is lively and enriched with chic elements. In the Yangliu River Street, the willows dance in the breeze by the riverbank and the quaint buildings are reflected in the streams. The beauty of these streets in Chengdu cannot only be found at a slow and cozy pace, but also in an orderly manner.

Despite the differentiations in the beauty of the twenty-two "Most Beautiful Streets", we have been able to find their common ground --- the refined management. The improvement in environmental sanitation, city appearance and traffic order of these streets not only has made the streets more beautiful, bringing pleasures to tourists, but also has given citizens real happiness.

Chengdu Municipal Commission of Urban Management holds the "Most Beautiful Streets" contest every six months. These streets play a leading role in demonstrating, innovating and improving the environment of the surrounding areas, making a positive impact. Since 2017, more than 130 streets in Chengdu have been awarded the "The Most Beautiful Streets".
