SCO Agricultural Technology Exchange and Training Demonstration Base unveiled in Yangling

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Agricultural Technology Exchange and Training Demonstration Basewas officially launched during the opening of the 27th China Yangling Agriculture Hi-tech Fair on October 22, 2020.

The launch came a day after participants at the 5th SCO agricultural ministers' meeting agreed to build the base in Yangling, Shaanxi province. 

With exchange, training and demonstration highlighted as its core functions, the SCO Agricultural Technology Exchange and Training Demonstration Base has a development concept that aims to build itself into a base with multiple platforms, a center with multiple parks and a research institute with multiple sub-organizations.

It has also defined its role in areas such as agricultural technology exchange and cooperation, education and training, demonstration and promotion, as well as agricultural trade and production capacity cooperation.

So far, the construction of the base is progressing smoothly with several key projects, including a SCO modern agriculture exchange centerin the pipeline.

Meanwhile, this year's China Yangling Agriculture Hi-tech Fair unveiled for the first time an online platform to boost its digital transformation and create a new mode for high-tech, smart and digital agriculture fairs.

The five-day event will feature 14 major activities, including the 2020 SCO Modern Agriculture Development Roundtable, the 4thYangling International Seed Industry Innovation Symposium and the 2020 Yangling International Agri-Science Forum.
