Foreigners Praise Chinese Model Workers for Extraordinary Community Service

As the International Workers' Day is coming on May 1, the activity "Working Experience with Model Workers" was held in Shenyang, as part of the event centered on "Celebrating May Day with Our Hearts Connected". This event was hosted by the Information Office of Liaoning Provincial People's Government and Liaoning Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, and organized by CRI Online Liaoning, China Media Group.

Seven international friends from Germany, France and Belarus followed the Chinese national model worker Song Cuiling to learn about Chinese community services.

Song Cuiling is the secretary of the community-based Party committee and director of the the neighborhood committee at the Sunshine 100 Community in Yuhong District, Shenyang. At the Community Service Hall, the visiting international friends saw a bright hall with residents queuing up to get their business done. In their eyes, the community was quite clean and all was done in good order.

The international friends followed Song Cuiling to the neighborhood to publicize the COVID-19 vaccination. Larder Edmond, a foreign kid helped pasting the leaflet properly on the door of the residential quarter.

Street cleaning is an important job for community workers, and the litter clamp is a helpful tool for cleaning the streets. At first, the foreigners were not used to working with the clamp, but under the guidance of Song Cuiling, Jörg Voss from Germany soon found it easy to use, quickly and accurately picking up the cigarette butts from the ground and throwing them into the trash bag. With the excellent cooperation between Jörg Voss and his wife Li Linlin, it didn't take long to clean up the area.

During the experience, Eduardo Soufan Penelo from Germany said, "I am a process engineer, and I usually get my work done by sitting in front of a computer in the office. Today there is more outdoor work, which makes my International Workers' Day this year very meaningful. The life of workers is extraordinary!"

In the activity, international friends from different sectors had the chance to learn about first-hand the work of model workers, and they were impressed by the dedication and commitment of the Chinese model workers in the new era.
