Hanging Lanterns on the Streets of Chengdu to Welcome the Chinese New Year

To welcome the Chinese New Year, Chengdu has installed lanterns and Chinese knots on street lights from January 28 which makes the Spring Festival's atmosphere of Chengdu stronger and stronger. The installation will be completed on Feb. 7.

It is understood that lanterns, Chinese knots used to create the festive and peaceful atmosphere will not be taken away until February 26. In addition, lanterns with lights will be hung in the city's central axis (Renmin South Road, Renmin Middle Road, Renmin North Road, Tianfu Avenue), east and west section of Shudu Avenue, Jinniu Avenue, Yingbin Avenue, Tianfu Square, etc.

In addition, the cultural characteristics of the district and some elements of Chengdu like Sichuan opera faces, pandas, Three Kingdoms culture, the Sunbird will be combined with the lanterns and Chinese knots to promote the value of "three cities and three capitals" brand industry and show features of the world's cultural city.
