Key Projects Signing Ceremony Held During Smart China EXPO 2021

In the afternoon of August 23rd, the Smart China Expo 2021 Key Project Signing Ceremony was held at Chongqing Yuelai International Convention Center. A total of 92 major programs attracting 252.4 billion yuan of investment were signed at the occasion.

In terms of the investment amount of the contracted projects, the investment amount of every contracted project is above 500 million yuan, among which 81 projects are invested with more than 1 billion yuan, up by 23 since 2020; 19 projects are invested with more than 5 billion yuan, up by 2 compared with 2020.

As for the industry, there are 32 smart manufacturing projects with a total investment of 101.6 billion yuan, accounting for 40% of  the total projects; 20 digital economy projects with a total investment of 42.8 billion yuan, accounting for 17% of all projects; 17 technology projects with a total investment of 46 billion yuan, accounting for 18% of the total amount; 23 other industrial projects, with a total investment of 62 billion yuan, accounting for 25%.

From the perspective of contracted investors, there are 10 central enterprise projects with a total investment of 46.3 billion yuan, accounting for 18%; 69 private enterprise projects investing 167 billion yuan, accounting for 66%; 5 foreign enterprise projects with a total investment of 7.3 billion yuan, accounting for 3%; and there are 8 projects invested by other entities such as state-owned enterprises in other provinces and cities, with a total investment of 31.8 billion yuan, accounting for 13%.

In addition, some projects in Guizhou, Sichuan, and other provinces have also been signed during the signing ceremony for a total investment of 3.2 billion yuan.

It is reported that since 2021, Chongqing has been carrying out in-depth "Investment Promotion Season" activities, continued to promote the introduction of central enterprises, private enterprises, and foreign companies, and implemented a series of investment promotion projects. Next, Chongqing will boost the investment promotion, steadily forward the implementation, operation and production of the projects, to create a world-class business environment in a coordinated manner.
