Recently, the list of Chengdu's 24 famous dishes and 95 representative restaurants has been officially released. The list is based on the organization of and selection by Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce and commerce departments of 21 cities (autonomous prefectures) in Sichuan Province.
The 24 famous dishes in Chengdu include Fish-flavored Shredded Pork, White-cut Pork with Garlic Sauce, Steamed Chinese Cabbage in Supreme Soup, Spicy Dan Dan Noodles, Lai Tang-yuan, Long Chaoshou, Zhong Dumplings, Kung Pao Chicken, Mapo Tofu, Sliced Beef and Ox Tongue in Chili Sauce, Twice-cooked Pork, Chicken Tofu Pudding, Stewed Duck with Tea, Stewed Pig's Trotters, Spicy Rabbit Head, Fried Goose, Jianyang Mutton Soup, Fish with Chilli Bean Sauce, Xipu Silver Carp, Stewed Chicken with Ginkgo, Boiled Yellow Cartfish, Sichuan Chinese Bacon, Sichuan Pickles and Baoguang Chanpai (a kind of vegetarian food in Baoguang temple).
