Zhejiang Tonglu Finds a Place in the China "Digital Village" Top 100 County List

Recently, the Institute for New Rural Development of Peking University and the AliResearch held the release conference of County Digital Village Index Report, announcing the China "Digital Village" Top 100 County List, in which, Tonglu County ranks the 50th.  

Recent years have witnessed the countywide efforts of Tonglu, Zhejiang in pushing forward the building of digital villages. Thanks to such efforts, it has established a digital village platform that radiates the whole county, and created a series of key application scenarios at provincial level. It also has been successively listed as the new digital life service benchmark cultivation unit of Zhejiang Province, and the first batch of demonstration counties bringing e-commerce into rural areas released by the Ministry of Commerce in 2021. In addition, for two times in a row, it has won the honorary title of the national advanced county for the countywide development of digital agriculture and village.              

Tonglu has formulated the Digital Village Construction Plan (2021-2022), and invested over CNY 13 million in building a "smart brain" system for the digital transformation of villages, with the aim to achieve the integrated construction of platforms at both county and village level, the systematic coordination of agricultural data, the visualized display of resources in rural areas, and the innovation in mechanisms and institutions.   　

Based on its featured industries, Tonglu has been listed as the first batch of forerunners to pilot the application of digital technologies in two cross-field scenarios identified by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Zhejiang Province: the reform of "real-name system of fertilizer purchase and quota system of pesticide use", and the "season-based village tour".       

Through the digital village campaign, Tonglu strives to reach a series of goals such as building ten smart agriculture demonstration parks and six smart agriculture demonstration bases.

Looking into the future, Tonglu will vigorously press ahead with the data collection for the ten major databases of the "Zhejiang provincial collaborative application platform for the digital reform of the work concerning agriculture, rural areas and farmers", connect with the county-level digital village platform to facilitate the data format cleansing, unify the data resource directory, boost the digital economy in rural areas, and strive to emerge as a "digital village" demonstration zone in Zhejiang Province.
