Tonglu Half Marathon 2022 Gathers Nearly 10,000 Runners from across the Nation to Enjoy Local Scenery

The Gold of Health·Tonglu Half Marathon 2022 kicked off at the Central Plaza in Tonglu County on the morning of October 30 and gathered nearly 10,000 runners from across the nation.

The marathon, hosted by the People's Government of Tonglu County, organized by the Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports of Tonglu County, and guided by Zhejiang Provincial Sports Competition Center, aims to further showcase Tonglu's great cultural environment, geographical conditions, urban culture and people, and create a shining name card for Tonglu's urban sports.

The organizing committee takes Fuchun River, which connects Tongjun Mountain and Qiliyangfan Scenic Area, among others, as the core of the track to let runners enjoy Tonglu's rich natural landscape while have a better race experience. "I can admire the beautiful view of Fuchun River while running, which helps me get rid of the tiredness of running and have an optimal performance," said Mr. Wang, who thought running on the bank of Fuchun River was a pleasant journey that cleanses both body and mind.

This year's track has been upgraded with fewer turns to provide runners with a smoother running experience. Meanwhile, Tonglu offered thoughtful accommodation and travel services to runners.

The Tonglu County 6th Sports Festival for All was held in parallel on the day of the event. Except for Tonglu Half Marathon, it also includes sports carnival, free access to gyms, county-level sports competitions, town-, township- and sub-district-level fitness events, etc. In addition, Tonglu also set up a leisure street displaying and selling local specialties as well as cultural and creative products, to boost local tourism consumption and promote the integrated development of its characteristic sports events and cultural and tourism industry.
