The 2023 WIC Wuzhen Summit Comes to a Successful Close

The program for the 2023 World Internet Conference (WIC) Wuzhen Summit, which touched on topics ranging from network communications and civilizational exchanges aimed at mutual understanding, AI, e-commerce, global development initiatives, and the protection of minors online and included 20 sub-forums, successfully concluded on the morning of November 10. All in all, the event welcomed more than 1,800 guests from 126 countries and regions online and in person.

This year's summit added another dimension to proceedings with the presentation of the "Wuzhen Summit 10-Year Commemorative Honor" and new activities such as the "Global Youth Leadership Program", using the platform to showcase outstanding global cases of building a community with a shared future in cyberspace.

The event hosted the release of the Developing Responsible Generative Artificial Intelligence Research Report and Consensus Document and the Report on Developments of International Normative Systems on Cross-Border E-commerce, which summarize global technological and industrial development trends in AI and cross-border e-commerce and suggest initiatives to promote development and improve governance. The IEEE International Summit Side Event was also held to discuss the new exigencies surrounding trust in the era of the digital economy. A Cyber Sovereignty: Theory and Practice (Version 4.0) concept document was released to further elucidate the concept of cyber sovereignty, along with China Internet Development Report 2023 and World Internet Development Report 2023 blue books that aim to provide an ideological reference point and intellectual support for global internet development and governance.
