Flashback to 119 BC, Zhang Qian went on a diplomatic mission to the Western Regions, bringing back pomegranate seeds through the Silk Road. In May this year, the China-Central Asia Summit was held in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. The pomegranate flower, the city flower of Xi'an, at the starting point of the Silk Road, has witnessed China's openness and inclusiveness on the stage of Belt and Road cooperation. 

In Lintong District of Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, pomegranate has become the major cornerstone of local agriculture. To this end, State Grid Xi'an Lintong District Electric Power Supply Company (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") has devoted itself to supporting the development of the "agriculture, rural areas and farmers" to fully serve the initiative to build a beautiful countryside.

In view of the highly seasonal, concentrated and prolonged power consumption in the Lintong pomegranate industry, the Company's Qinyong Power Supply Station has gone deep into the grassroots and proactively provided online and offline services to assure reliable power supply for the pomegranate cultivation.

With the rise of e-commerce shipping and livestream e-commerce on Douyin, the locals have started livestreaming during the pomegranate harvest season to promote their products. Hence, Qinyong Power Supply Station has been committed to educating the public on electrical safety practices in response to the sales model that has emerged in its power delivery area to contribute to rural revitalization.

Currently, the entire Lintong District boasts an expansive pomegranate cultivation area of nearly 80,000 mu (about 5,333.33 hectares), yielding more than 80,000 tons of high-quality pomegranates annually. With over 50,000 people engaged in the pomegranate planting, this sector generates an annual output value of over CNY 500 million. The district has created a rural ecological agriculture sightseeing and picking service chain that integrates picking and tasting, product selling, and leisure and sightseeing. Additionally, it has launched a range of deep-processed products such as pomegranate juice, wine, and vinegar to enhance the overall economic benefits of the pomegranate agricultural sector.
