Foreign Journalists Explore the Thousand-Year History and Culture Values in Jinan

“Hi, Shandong--Foreign Media’s Tour to Cultural Jinan” wrapped up in Jinan, Shandong Province. This interview trip, held from March 11 to 12, was organized by the Information Office of Jinan Municipal People’s Government and CRI Online Shandong. During the two-day tour, nine journalists from Cambodia, South Korea, Russia, Türkiye, Vietnam and other countries visited Impression Jinan·Spring World, Baotu Spring Park and Mingshui Ancient Town. They explored the rich history and cultural relics for thousands of years by experiencing the spring water, exquisite handicrafts, and fascinating performances.

At the first stop, foreign journalists viewed the lifelike wax figures of celebrities at Impression Jinan·Spring World. Meanwhile, they observed “A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains,"  a painting made by Shandong embroidery techniques, and experienced the production of clay sculptures that integrate modern and traditional elements. These intangible cultural heritages left a deep impression on them.

They also enjoyed the rich culture of springs during their visit to Baotu Spring, which is honored as “the top spring in the world.”.

And then, Mingshui Ancient Town brought them an immersive experience of the profound history and culture of Jinan. Foreign media reporters appreciated the beautiful spring water in the ancient town, and sought the lyrical poetry of the Song Dynasty in the former residence of Li Qingzhao, a famous poet in China’s ancient Song Dynasty (960–1279).

This event fully demonstrated the rich history and culture of Jinan through foreign media’s lenses. It will allow more international friends to perceive Jinan’s vivid practice of building a modernized city of springs and a world-class metropolis, and make the world better understand Jinan and even China.
