Huazhao Festival, or "Flower Goddess Festival", is an important traditional folk festival in ancient China, which usually falls on the second, 12th or 15th of February in the Chinese lunar calendar. During the festival, people would have spring outings with friends for blossom appreciation, when girls would stick colorful paper cuts on the branches, which are also known as "appreciation of red".
