The “2020 Chongqing Banan district foreigners@CHONGQING experiencing intangible cultural heritage and rural area visiting event” officially launched on May 13th, 2020.

Banan district was called “Ba Xian” in ancient times, it used to be a famous city with over a thousand years of history. Banan district is blessed with profound culture and intangible cultural heritages, such as Mudong folk songs, disorderly needle embroidery, and dough sculpture, which made Banan district the most representative inheritance area.

The “Chongqing Banan district foreigners@CHONGQING experiencing intangible cultural heritage and rural area visiting event” was successfully held for two years, and will continue to build a free intangible cultural heritage learning platform, Banan district invites all foreigners to come to learn their intangible cultural heritages, experiencing and even in love with Chinese traditional culture. This event started in March 2020 and will continue to December 2020, and student recruitment will adopt both online and offline forms. Banan district will come to schools and offer free courses to keep building the free learning platform, and they will combine these courses with Chinese traditional festivals such as the Dragon Boat Festival, Tanabata Festival, and the Mid-Autumn Festival. The whole experiencing course will mix intangible cultural heritages, traditional festivals, and rural area visiting together, let all foreign students deeply understand Chongqing intangible cultural heritage cultures.

Banan district will also launch the “foreigners rural area visiting photography, vlog, and travel notes competition from May 2020 to July 2020. Banan district will invite foreigner friends to travel each sub-district thoroughly, they can learn how intangible cultural heritage skills work, experience Chinese traditional farming or festivals, understand a poverty liberating story, shopping, or even harvest some agriculture products or just go to a famous sightseeing spot.
