A seminar on the script of the movie Chang’an Chang’an was held in Beijing on June 29. Present at the seminar were experts and leaders from China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC), Central Research Institute of Culture and History, China Film Association, Screenplay Planning Center under the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, China Film Critics Association, Beijing Film Academy, Program Center of China Movie Channel, Shaanxi Film Association, People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, Xi’an International Trade & Logistics Park, CRI Online of China Media Group and other organizations.

The movie Chang’an Chang’an aims to show the audience at home and abroad the development and pleasant changes of Asian and European countries, which are attributed to the implementation of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, the long history and rich culture of Xi’an as the starting point of the Silk Road, and the modern Xi’an International Trade & Logistics Park supporting the Initiative efficiently.

Participants discussed the innovative practices and helpful experience of film and television creation with major themes, “Belt and Road” storytelling and promotion of themed movies, providing important references and suggestions for film shooting, production, promotion and other relevant jobs. Li Zhun, former vice president of CFLAC, believed that the movie Chang’an Chang’an is interesting and novel because it presents the “Belt and Road” and Xi’an at three different historical stages. Zhong Chengxiang, former vice president of CFLAC and member of the Central Leading Group on Major Themes, hoped that the movie would be more distinctive in the refinement and pursuit of the theme. Zhang Ali, president of Shaanxi Film Association, suggested that the story in the film should connect the fate of the characters with the theme of the times, and visualize the protagonist’s love for Chang’an through plots, feelings, and conflicts. He hoped the work could become an outstanding film demonstrating the Silk Road and Xi’an.

The movie was produced by CRI Online of China Media Group and Xi’an Port Culture and Sports Industry Development Co., Ltd., and the filming project was undertaken by Shaanxi Butterfly Effect Entertainment Media Co., Ltd.
