Commemorative Envelope Marking the 50th Anniversary of Establishment of China-Cyprus Diplomatic Ties Launched in Mount Huashan, Shaanxi, China

On the morning of December 14, the commemorative envelope marking the 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Cyprus was launched at Wanshou Pavilion, Xiyue Temple at the foot of Mount Huashan in Weinan City, Shaanxi Province.

At the launching ceremony, Chinese Ambassador to Cyprus Liu Yantao and Cypriot Ambassador to China Antonis Toumazis delivered speeches via videos, praising the fruitful achievements made by China and Cyprus through mutual assistance over the past 50 years. Both sides believe that people-to-people exchanges have always been an important driving force that propels the development of China-Cyprus relations. The launch of the commemorative envelope marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties is another highlight of the people-to-people exchanges between the two countries and surely a new symbolic event in the deepening of China-Cyprus friendship.

The commemorative envelope marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-Cyprus diplomatic ties mainly highlights the national flags of the two countries, Mount Huashan in China, and Aphrodite's Rock in Cyprus. The issuance bears witness to the enduring friendship between China and Cyprus and marks closer relations between the two countries.

In October this year, Weinan City, China and Limassol City, Cyprus signed a letter of intent to establish sister-city relations.
