Water Transport is a special way to transport grain and other supplies by canal in ancient times. To better present its cultural relics and development history, the Water Transport Museum is constructed in Huai'an, Jiangsu Province.

China Water Transport Museum is located in Water Transport Square to the north of the site of Water Transport Governor's Office, Huai'an District, Huai'an City. It is a National AAAA Level Tourism Scenic Spot. The building of the museum adopts the dignified and unsophisticated style of Yangtze-Huaihe area in the Ming and Qing Dynasty. The museum occupies a total floor area of 8,680 square kilometers, with two floors above the ground cover 1,200 square meters, including a foyer and a visitor center, etc.

The whole exhibition area of Water Transport Museum is divided into History Hall, Canal Hall, Huai'an Hall and Cultural Relics Hall. The museum is equipped with multimedia audio-visual interaction system to innovate the display of historical materials, which breaks the traditional mode of museums. The various demonstrations and substantial contents of exhibition vividly show the rise and decline of Water Transport in thousands of years.
