Recently, thousands of immigrants from South America have been bused from Republican-led southern U.S. border region to liberal bastions like New York, aiming to add to the pressure on the Democratic Party. New York City Mayor declared a state of emergency in response to the unprecedented influx of asylum seekers. Some immigrants suffering from ill health have still been transported, some have suffered psychological crises, and some have committed suicide in New York shelters.
