According to the recent update from the Education Bureau of Xiangjiang New Area in Hunan Province, 15 new schools are scheduled to be put into operation in September 2023, providing over 30,000 students with opportunities to attend school.
In 2023, the Xiangjiang New Area in Hunan will take active measures to accelerate the construction of 50 schools. The aim is to ensure that the construction work on 14 new schools (including the one that has already been completed in advanced) and five schools undergoing renovation and expansion will be completed in time for autumn term. This will enable 30,000 new students to enjoy the opportunity to attend school with the support of the government. Moreover, nine government-sponsored kindergartens will be newly established to ensure that all kindergartens for urban communities can be transformed into government-sponsored kindergartens under the direct government management. This will help to promote equal access to education.
"In recent years, the Xiangjiang New Area in Hunan has become more attractive to market entities and talent. The construction of schools is closely connected to people's well-being and social stability. It is considered a key livelihood project that will benefit tens of thousands of households and also a vital measure to showcase the attractiveness and competitiveness of the new area. Additionally, it is a method to make the education industry of the new area more influential," said Yang Jinlin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Education Bureau of Xiangjiang New Area in Hunan.
To date, the Xiangjiang New Area has a total of 181 primary and secondary schools with 260,300 students enrolled. The new area has utilized renowned school groups to enhance the education quality and has also implemented innovative measures such as establishing school alliances. Through the concept of "Collaborated School Operations and Coordinated Management of Teaching Staff, Financial Affairs, Facilities, and Overall School Activities", the new area has achieved urban and rural education resource sharing and integration of urban and rural schools. As a result, the new area has effectively met the demands of local residents for high-quality educational resources.
