The world's largest & highest-altitude complementary hydro and solar power station, located on the Zaratanshan Mountain in Kela, Sichuan Province, at an altitude of 4,600 meters, has officially been connected to the grid for power generation. The project has a capacity of 1 million kilowatts, covers an area of 25,000 acres, equivalent to more than 2,000 standard football fields spliced together, and has an average annual power generation of 2 billion kilowatt-hours, which can meet the annual electricity demand of 700,000 households.
