On July 15, a delegation of the "Foreign Journalists' Visit to Gansu," organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee, visited the Liujiaxia Hydropower Station of State Grid Gansu Electric Power Co., Ltd. (State Grid Gansu Electric Power). Ten journalists from seven international media outlets, including Indonesia's ANTARA News Agency, Japan's Hokkaido Shimbun Press, South Korea's Aju Business Daily, Pakistan's AI TV, Russian State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company, Rossiya Segodnya, and Vietnam's NHAN DAN, demonstrated the station's initiatives in ecological civilization, sustainable hydropower energy development, disaster prevention and relief, and power supply through their cameras and writing.
The foreign journalists visited the dam, plant, and reservoir of the Liujiaxia Hydropower Station, and engaged in in-depth discussions with station officials regarding the station's efforts in sediment control, application of scientific and technological innovation, international hydropower training and exchanges, disaster response and power supply, and contributions to China's hydropower development. Through on-site observations and direct interviews, they gained a detailed understanding of China's first independently designed and constructed megawatt hydropower station. They also learned about the station's remarkable history of creating seven firsts in China's hydropower industry through arduous efforts and dedication.
"Visiting the Liujiaxia Hydropower Station is a truly astonishing experience. The fact that this station still withstands various natural disasters and operates safely and steadily shows that China's hydropower construction technology was already advanced over 50 years ago. This visit has taught me a lot," Zafar Hussain, a journalist from Pakistan's AI TV exclaimed.
Do Huu Hung, a journalist from Vietnam's NHAN DAN, said that the tour to the gorgeous Liujiaxia Hydropower Station had impressed them a lot. He hopes that through reports on NHAN DAN, more people can get to see this station, learn about the State Grid Corporation of China, and have a better understanding of China.
Through the "Foreign Journalists' Visit to Gansu" event, the Liujiaxia Hydropower Station presents an international viewpoint on the achievements of China's hydropower development from the 1950s and 1960s. The visit highlights Chinese people's practices in the new era of safeguarding the Yellow River and comprehensively developing and utilizing hydropower resources, as well as their commitment to green development, and stories about building a beautiful, sustainable China.
