Discovering China's Magnificent Water Sources: Foreign Internet Celebrities Explore Qinghai's Ecological Foundation

The 2024 "Water of China! Exploring Magnificent Water Sources in Qinghai" Online International Communication Event was officially launched on August 27 in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. The event is directed by the Bureau of Cyber Communications of the Cyberspace Administration of China and organized by the Cyberspace Administration of Qinghai Province and CRI Online of China Media Group. Internet celebrities from countries like Croatia, Mexico, Russia, and the United Kingdom visited Qinghai to explore its ecological significance as the source of China's most magnificent water resources.

Qinghai, a key region of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, stands as a crucial national ecological security barrier and a global natural repository for alpine species. To highlight Qinghai's achievements in ecological civilization development, foreign internet celebrities were invited to Tuanjie Village, located in the Hexi Town of Guide County, on the morning of August 27. They explored how this formerly ordinary village contributes to ecological efforts aimed at keeping rivers clean and beautiful, with the support from locals.

"This is my first visit to Qinghai. Through the introduction of the owner of Meidi Huatian Farm, I discovered how transformation efforts have supported rural tourism. The farm has been transformed into a picturesque flower field, while the surrounding land has been repurposed to build wooden houses, starry lawn squares, and outdoor self-service barbecue areas. The farm creates numerous job opportunities for nearby villages every year, enabling resident to work close to home. The balance between tourism development and environmental protection is truly notable," Artem Uskov, a Russian internet celebrity said.

During the event, foreign internet celebrities shared their experiences, observations, and insight through their Chinese and overseas social media accounts. This will showcase to the world the Chinese wisdom embedded in the ecological culture that is driving Qinghai's green development in the new era.
