From September 12 to 16, the 9th Colourful World – Cultural Exhibition of Countries along the Belt and Road will be held at the No. 10 Hall of Shougang Park. The event is hosted by the Information Office of Beijing Municipality, organized by CRI Online of China Media Group, and Beijing Performing and Arts Group, and supported by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality.
As the most internationalized part of the "Culture and Tourism Services" category at the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), this year's "Colourful World" will see the participation of over 30 foreign embassies and international organizations.
During the event, the participating embassies in China and international organizations will set up pavilions in the cultural exhibition area to present and promote cultural products, handicrafts, clothing, and musical instruments from various countries. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience exotic customs and the allure of the cultures along the Silk Road up close. A main stage will also be in place for distinctive shows by foreign embassies, traditional Chinese cultural and artistic performances, the "Colourful Journey" (a section for culture and tourism promotions), and other activities, aiming to provide a rich cultural experience for visitors of the exhibition. Additionally, the event will feature a pavilion of "Colourful Goods", which will offer a range of exquisite event-exclusive copyrighted cultural products that blend unique cultural elements with innovative integration.
Notably, the "Colourful World – Creative Youth" China-EU Cultural Communication Activity and the "Colourful Tea and Coffee" Cultural Exchange will be launched for the first time. These new sub-events aim to foster communication and understanding between different cultures through the exchange of ideas between young generations in China and from the rest of the world, as well as the interaction and integration over cups.
This year's "Colourful World" will once again offer interactive sub-events such as the "Silk Road Passport" stamp collection activity where visitors can get gift bags, and the "Silk Road Post Office" for sending blessings. Famous vloggers from the Belt and Road partner countries will be invited to attend the event and engage in on-site interactive sessions. With a dazzling variety of sub-events and amazing experiential offers, the event will offer more visitors opportunities to explore the unique cultures of the Belt and Road partner countries from different angles.
