In recent years, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company,  leveraging the unique resources of Xixia County, has actively taken measures to promote a win-win goal of “Electricity + Ecological Environment”.

The Huashupan Alpine Wetland in Taiping Town, hidden among dense forests on high mountains, spans over a thousand mu. It features numerous ponds and diverse vegetation types, attracting a wide variety of bird species. This area holds significant scientific research and tourism value.

The State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company integrated biodiversity conservation into the early stages of power grid construction. During the planning phase, the Company optimized site selection and routing, strictly adhered to the ecological protection redline policy, and reasonably avoided environmentally sensitive areas to fully meet ecological and environmental protection requirements. To accommodate bird nesting habits, the Company employed devices such as bird-repellent devices and insulated covers to effectively prevent bird droppings and nests from falling onto line equipment without harming the birds. Additionally, staff regularly inspected power lines, poles and towers in areas with frequent bird activity. They reinforced and sealed cabinets that were damaged, poorly sealed, or prone to bird entry, thereby preventing electrocution of birds.

Protected by the green power grid, the Huashupan Alpine Wetland hosts flocks of migratory birds, establishing itself as a significant ecological symbol for Xixia County.
