In July 2024, the National Energy Administration selected several county and town areas to promote the construction and application of charging infrastructure. Songzi City was successfully chosen as a national demonstration county for the promotion, accelerating the establishment of an effective charging network that covers rural areas. This initiative supports the adoption of new energy vehicles in rural areas and contributes to rural revitalization, injecting new vitality into the development of these regions.
Since 2024, the State Grid Songzi City Power Supply Company has significantly boosted its investment in charging infrastructure and focused on ensuring the continued operation and maintenance of these facilities. As of January 2025, the company has established and is operating eight charging stations with 28 charging piles in Xiejia Ping Tujia Ethnic Town, achieving near-complete coverage of charging piles.
The State Grid Jingzhou Power Supply Company has actively promoted the construction of rural charging infrastructure. By December 2024, it had built and is operating 1,553 electric vehicle charging piles across various locations in Jingzhou. This initiative ensures smooth travel for tourists, promotes the green development of local agriculture, and contributes to the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas.
