In a significant move to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the regional power grid, State Grid Huai'an Power Supply Company has launched a large-scale maintenance operation this spring. The project involves the replacement of main transformers at two key substations—the 110 kV Yingdong and Zhuzhang substations—marking a critical step in optimizing the region's power infrastructure.
Night Operations at Yingdong Substation
The Yingdong and Zhuzhang substations serve as vital hubs in the regional grid, with their main transformers playing a pivotal role in ensuring stable and efficient power distribution. The Yingdong Substation, equipped with an 80 MVA transformer, primarily supplies residential areas with consistent power demands. Meanwhile, the Zhuzhang Substation, with a smaller transformer capacity, supports a growing number of industrial enterprises, where electricity consumption is on a steady rise. To address these evolving needs, State Grid Huai'an has initiated a strategic swap of the main transformers between the two substations, aiming to improve equipment utilization and strengthen the grid's overall performance.
Dismantling and Installation in Progress
The project kicked off on February 17 with the dismantling of the No. 1 main transformer at Yingdong Substation. Working tirelessly day and night, the crew has been removing the old transformer while preparing for the installation of the new unit. On-site technicians have meticulously inspected the equipment to ensure optimal conditions, carefully disassembling components and applying protective measures to prevent damage from moisture or contamination during the process.
Workers carry out dismantling operations
Scheduled for completion by March 2, the transformer replacement project is expected to significantly enhance the regional grid's resilience against potential risks, ensuring a more secure and stable power supply. This upgrade not only safeguards the grid's operational integrity but also provides a robust foundation to support the region's economic growth.
