On February 20, the State Grid unveiled its "Electric Love Classroom" initiative at Zhuba Middle School in Hongze District, Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province. Volunteers from the State Grid Huai'an Power Supply Company kicked off the project with a special "back-to-school" safety session, marking a new step toward promoting electrical safety on campus.
Launch Event for State Grid's "Electric Love Classroom" Initiative
During the session, volunteers took on the role of "electricity educators," using animated videos and interactive content to teach students the fundamentals of safe electricity use. The engaging approach made it easy for students to absorb essential knowledge about electrical safety in a fun and memorable way.
As part of the demonstration, a drone equipped with an infrared thermal camera was deployed to inspect power lines near the school. Operated remotely by the volunteers, the drone provided real-time footage, allowing the team to identify and address potential issues efficiently.

Following the classroom activities, the volunteers conducted a thorough inspection of the school’s electrical systems, ensuring all equipment met safety standards and addressing any potential risks.
The "Electric Love Classroom" project, which began construction in December 2024, has already brought significant upgrades to Zhuba Middle School. Four classrooms were outfitted with 44 new energy-efficient lights, 13 updated blackboard lights, and four advanced networking systems. These improvements not only enhance lighting quality but also modernize the school’s teaching infrastructure.
The Volunteers Inspect for Potential Hazards
Looking ahead, the State Grid Huai'an Power Supply Company plans to expand its outreach efforts, bringing electrical safety education to more schools in the region. By regularly hosting workshops and inspections, the initiative aims to raise awareness about safe electricity practices among students and staff, fostering a safer and more sustainable learning environment.
