The Qinyang North 750 kV Transmission and Transformation Project is a key supporting component of the "Gansu Electric Power to Shandong" Project planned in the national 14th Five-Year Plan. It is also an important hub for integrating six million kW of new energy into the grid and for the newly constructed Shaanxi-Gansu inter-provincial tie-line. Once completed, it will significantly enhance the power supply capacity and reliability of the local grid, and play a crucial role in promoting economic development in the Longdong (Eastern Gansu) Old Revolutionary Base Area and surrounding regions.

As a large-scale integrated energy base project combining wind, solar, thermal, and energy storage for external transmission in China, the "Gansu Electric Power to Shandong" project starts from the Qinyang converter station in Gansu Province in the west and ends at the Dongping converter station in Shandong Province in the east. It is capable of delivering over 36 billion kWh of electricity to Shandong annually, this project is of great significance for advancing the development of the Longdong Old Revolutionary Base Area, ensuring power supply, and promoting the transformation to clean energy. According to State Grid Gansu Electric Power Company, the "Gansu Electric Power to Shandong" Project has entered the equipment acceptance and commissioning phase, and is expected to be completed and operational by May 2025.
