Recently, at the morel mushroom cultivation base in Zhuzhuang Village, Yuandian Hui Ethnic Township, Fangcheng County, Nanyang City, Henan Province, clusters of brown morel mushrooms have emerged from the soil. Workers are busy picking, sorting, and drying them. Staff from the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company visited the mushroom greenhouses and processing workshops, gathering insights into the growth of the morel mushroom industry and addressing growers’ electricity requirements. Their efforts aimed to increase morel mushroom yields and improve farmers’ income.
In recent years, Yuandian Hui Ethnic Township has leveraged its favorable natural conditions to vigorously develop the morel mushroom cultivation industry. Currently, the morel mushroom planting area in the township has exceeded 800 mu (131.8 acres), with growing economic benefits becoming increasingly evident.
“Temperature and humidity control in the mushroom greenhouses, cold storage preservation, and drying processes all rely on electricity. The staff from the power supply station check the circuits every month, and we’ve never faced any delays,” said Zhao Baowei, head of the morel mushroom cooperative, as he led the personnel of the power supply station to inspect the production lines for electric drying in the workshop. At the drying workshop, using infrared thermometers, technicians from the Qinghe Power Supply Station carefully measured the temperature of the drying equipment’s terminals and conducted a thorough inspection of the workshop’s distribution boxes and switchgear. During the inspection, they identified and resolved two potential connection issues.
The State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company has provided robust electrical support for the local morel mushroom industry through proactive visits, addressing concerns, and eliminating safety hazards. Looking ahead, the Company will focus on the development of rural characteristic industries, enhance information coordination for agricultural industries, and inject electrical momentum into rural revitalization.
