State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power: Heartwarming Services Brighten Lives of Elderly Living Alone

On March 20, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power, in close collaboration with Xiangshan County Future Community, actively carried out the “Thousand Households, Ten Thousand Lights” community manager grid services. It delivered care and ensured electricity safety for elderly residents living alone. This effort focused on special groups within the community and aimed to provide personalized electricity safety services for 84-year-old Wang Yalian, an elderly resident living alone in Xinfeng Community.

That day, Yu Mingwei, the community manager of State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power, rushed to Wang Yalian's home in Xinfeng Community together with his colleagues. At 84 years old, Grandma Wang had limited mobility and could not even go up and down stairs. She has lived in a garage room for a long time. Previously, there was an issue with the switches in her home. Although Grandma Wang had hired several electricians to fix it, the problem remained unresolved. During a community survey, Master Yu Mingwei learned of the situation and volunteered to provide on-site services. Considering the complex electrical environment of the garage room, Master Yu Mingwei carefully wrote down all issues during his first visit and returned to prepare various suitable materials. On his second visit, Master Yu and his colleagues, with their extensive experience and technical expertise, quickly conducted a comprehensive inspection and replacement of the switches and related wiring in the room. After some busy work, they finally resolved the long-standing electricity issue that had been troubling Grandma Wang. When the switch was pressed, the light turned on and Grandma Wang’s wrinkled face lit up with a relieved smile. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to Master Yu and the power supply staff for their thoughtful services.  

Unexpectedly, Grandma Wang went out of her way to call the community office, showering Master Yu Mingwei with praise. She said excitedly over the phone, “Master Yu is such a good person. I’m so grateful to him for being so dedicated in helping me solve my electricity problems. My heart feels so warm!” Grandma Wang’s simple words conveyed not only her personal gratitude but also her high recognition of State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power’s services.

The “Thousand Households, Ten Thousand Lights” community manager grid service is not just a simple electricity safety check but also a concrete reflection of State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power's commitment to social responsibility and its efforts to deliver warmth and care. This practical action effectively addressed electricity safety hazards for elderly residents living alone, allowing them to feel the care and respect of society.

In the future, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power will continue to deepen its cooperation with Xiangshan County's Future Community, expanding the scope of services and providing high-quality and efficient power services to more community residents, especially special groups, so as to foster a safe, harmonious, and caring community  environment.
