On May 22, employees of State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power arrived at the Siming Mountain area in Haishu District, Ningbo. Using intelligent inspection equipment such as drones and infrared thermal sensors, they conducted special inspections of lines and equipment in remote areas, cleared line corridors, and ensured the safe and stable operation of the power grid—building a “safety net” for flood prevention and reliable power supply.

Since the onset of the flood season, to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power has planned ahead and made thorough preparations. Considering seasonal flood-related weather patterns, it has developed special line inspection plans, carried out investigations and rectifications of hidden hazards, and enhanced its capabilities for flood control, disaster resistance, and power supply.
On-site, staff use drones and infrared thermal sensors to conduct full-coverage inspections of lines and distribution transformer zones susceptible to rainwater erosion and falling trees. Drones easily navigate complex terrain, offering multi-dimensional perspectives, while infrared imaging enables remote temperature measurement to detect abnormal equipment heating, thereby improving inspection efficiency and accuracy. For each identified hazard, a hazard management log is immediately established, implementing a “find one, rectify one” closed-loop management mechanism. For underground and low-lying distribution station rooms, staff use digital twin and intelligent analysis systems to monitor key data such as temperature and humidity in real time, tracking equipment operating conditions. When data anomalies are detected, the system automatically issues alerts, improving emergency response efficiency.
Looking ahead, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power will further strengthen coordination and communication with flood control, emergency response, meteorological, and other departments. It will closely monitor weather changes, reinforce flood control and power supply measures, and carry out special inspections, maintenance, and hazard management of lines and equipment to ensure a reliable power supply.
