Recently, the 98,000-cubic-meter reservoir for the High-Standard Farmland (Efficient Water-Saving) Project in Jintangqiao Village, Tongfu Township, Pingluo County, Shizuishan City, began water injection operations. At the command of station director Jia Ning, two pumps were activated, swiftly filling the station’s pipelines. The water is now being delivered through lifting stations, booster pumps, and other auxiliary facilities, and then continuously channeled via black drip irrigation belts to nearly 5,000 mu (approximately 825 acres) of farmland—ensuring each corn seedling receives timely and sufficient irrigation.

To ensure the safe and smooth launch of the newly constructed irrigation facilities, staff from the local power supply station arrived early to provide on-site support for the pump station's operation.

Constructing high-standard farmland is a crucial measure for improving arable land quality, enhancing irrigation conditions, ensuring national food security, and strengthening comprehensive grain production capacity. In recent years, Shizuishan City has actively advanced the strategy of “storing grain in land and in technology,” accelerating the development of high-standard farmland. The city has steadily raised construction standards and quality, aiming to boost overall agricultural productivity and build a solid foundation for food security.

The Jintang Village project is extensive in scope, with demanding construction requirements across various domains including water extraction, storage, irrigation, drainage, and the development of field roads—all requiring robust power support. Early this year, upon learning of the project, the State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company took swift action, establishing a dedicated service team to proactively engage with the construction unit. The team conducted on-site visits to understand the project's power plans and requirements.

During the planning phase, personnel conducted multiple field surveys. Taking into account the layout of the farmland and the electricity needs of construction equipment, they formulated a scientifically sound power supply plan. By opening a special "green channel", the team completed the design, installation, and commissioning of boundary switches in just five days. They also strategically determined transformer capacity and line routing, ensuring the power supply met current construction needs while also accommodating the long-term requirements of future agricultural production.

"In the past, we used open channels for irrigation, which was time-consuming, labor-intensive, and wasteful of water—and even then, irrigation was neither timely nor uniform, which significantly impacted crop yields. But now, with drip irrigation lines reaching the edge of every field, I can irrigate everything with just a tap on my phone from home. It's efficient, precise, and waste-free," said Han Jiang, project manager for the high-standard farmland in Jintang Village.

Thanks to a series of support measures implemented by the Pingluo Power Supply Company, all foundational infrastructure for the high-standard farmland project has now been completed. The pump station's electrical systems are operating reliably, providing a steady power supply for irrigation and other critical operations.

Looking ahead, the State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company will continue to closely monitor the electricity needs of high-standard farmland construction. The company plans to further optimize its power supply services, enhance load monitoring during irrigation and drainage periods, and increase inspection frequency of relevant power lines and equipment. Regular electrical safety checks will be carried out for irrigation and drainage facilities, and users will be guided in identifying and addressing safety risks. These efforts aim to provide strong power support for efficient agricultural production and to contribute meaningfully to the implementation of China's rural revitalization strategy.
