On May 27, State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Co., Ltd. dispatched technicians to inspect power lines in Nanzhao County, Nanyang City, Henan Province. Using laser equipment, they safely removed plastic bags from transmission towers to prevent potential power outages.
To secure grid resilience during the flood season, State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Co., Ltd., drawing on its experience in flood prevention, has strengthened the management and control of flood-related hazards and implemented a dual “Manual and Technical Measures” approach. It has prepared emergency personnel, materials, and equipment in advance to ensure the safety of the power grid.
The company has enhanced inspections of grid equipment. Using over 20 cameras on its visual management platform for transmission lines, it has established a three-dimensional inspection system combining “drones + management platform + manual inspection.” It has conducted comprehensive pre-flood inspections of vulnerable sections—such as mountainous areas, wind gaps, and forest zones—and promptly cleared trees, bamboo, and floating objects that may pose threats to line safety.
Flood control emergency plans have been developed for substations, including strengthened monitoring of flood conditions and protection against equipment failures due to roof leaks or water ingress into outdoor cabinets. Key power stations and single-source substations have resumed manned operations, and special inspections are being conducted to closely monitor equipment status. The company has also visited important customers to assist in inspecting their own power facilities and to ensure the reliability of backup power supplies.
Additionally, State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Co., Ltd. has used WeChat groups and other channels to remind customers to stay away from power facilities such as high-voltage distribution rooms and power lines during storms, and to avoid fallen utility poles or damaged wires.
Next, the company will continue to intensify supervision and on-site risk management, ensuring the fastest response and most effective measures to guarantee safe and reliable power supply throughout the jurisdiction.
