State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Ensures Reliable Power Supply for 2025 China–Central and Eastern Europe International Sailing Competition

On May 25, the 2025 China–Central and Eastern Europe International Sailing Competition & Ningbo International Sailing Competition officially concluded at the Xiangshan Asian Sailing Center in Ningbo, Zhejiang. State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power successfully completed the power supply guarantee for the Xiangshan Asian Sailing Center venue.

As China’s highest-level and largest-scale keelboat (single-class) event this year, the competition attracted 21 domestic teams and 15 international teams from 14 countries, including Croatia, Greece, Germany, and Russia.

To ensure safe and reliable power supply during the event, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power prioritized the task, developed a special plan, and advanced power assurance preparations. The sailing competition’s power assurance involved three substations, four 110-kilovolt transmission lines, six 10-kilovolt distribution lines, 31 switching stations, and three key customers, with a total deployment of 99 personnel and 33 vehicles equipped with sufficient emergency resources.

During the event, the dispatching team enhanced the management of power monitoring and communication systems while improving grid operation surveillance. The service quality team organized on-site personnel to strengthen the management of venue substations and internal equipment, preparing emergency responses for natural disasters and external damage that might affect power production safety and operations. The maintenance team closely monitored the impact of weather and load changes on equipment, conducting comprehensive inspections using live-line detection, infrared thermography, and partial discharge tests on all critical equipment and backup power supplies, while updating inspection priorities daily based on operational status.
