On June 5, in celebration of World Environment Day, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power, in collaboration with the local Ecological Environment Bureau, launched the "Beautiful China, I Take the Lead—Green Ark Program Enters Campus" campaign. The event aimed to strengthen joint efforts in ecological protection and foster a culture of shared responsibility among the public, especially the younger generation.

The campaign cleverly combined informative sessions with hands-on creative activities, offering children an engaging introduction to green energy. "So, what is the Green Ark Program? And how does it help us build a greener, more sustainable future?" Through lively and interactive Q&A, the company's presenters introduced key concepts in green energy, explained the program's role in protecting rare and endangered species, emphasized the importance of green construction, and shared practical energy-saving tips for daily life. The session inspired students to develop environmental awareness from an early age and to actively participate in sustainable living.

In the following canvas bag painting session, children transformed into "green designers," using their imaginations and paintbrushes to depict visions of eco-friendly homes and the future of the Green Ark initiative. The artworks were full of creativity and idealism, reflecting the children's hopes for a beautiful, sustainable world.

On the same day, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power also hosted an open day at the Green Ark Exhibition Hall in Lishui's Baishanzu area. Visitors were introduced to the program's practical achievements in the region, including its contributions to the conservation of rare species.

Since 2022, the State Grid Green Ark public welfare project has been implemented in Qianjiangyuan-Baishanzu National Park, focusing on the protection of Abies beshanzuensis, a critically endangered fir species. State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power has built a zero-carbon microgrid and an ecological monitoring station in the core habitat, delivering clean, reliable electricity and enabling digital management. A key innovation of the project is the development of a "sky-earth-grid" integrated power system map, which combines meteorological, geographical, and grid data to guide conservation strategies. Through reducing carbon emissions, limiting human disturbance, and raising public awareness, the initiative is exploring a new model of energy-based ecological stewardship.

Leveraging this project, the company has adopted advanced technologies, such as a zero-carbon drone-based monitoring system integrated into Lishui's intelligent biodiversity platform. This system provides 24/7 real-time tracking of the Abies beshanzuensis's growth patterns—from subtle changes in leaf condition to root extension—offering precise data for conservation decision-making. So far, 83 seedlings have been successfully cultivated from mother tree seeds, with over 600 naturally germinated under tree canopies and 4,000 new saplings rooted in the wild, achieving a major breakthrough in the recovery of this "living fossil."

In addition, the company has incorporated biodiversity considerations into major infrastructure projects, such as the Qingdong 220kV transmission and transformation project. Efforts include the construction of shelters like "animal nests" and "feeding stations," as well as biodiversity monitoring stations for fungi and other species. These initiatives exemplify a new eco-friendly model of power infrastructure that balances engineering development with ecological protection through government-enterprise collaboration.

Looking ahead, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power will continue to deepen its understanding of the symbiotic relationship between humanity and nature. The company is committed to embedding biodiversity protection throughout the entire life cycle of power grid construction and operations, accelerating the development of nature-positive, eco-friendly power networks that support the planet's long-term sustainability.
