Recently, to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company launched a special inspection campaign focused on preventing external damage. This campaign targets key areas such as agricultural machinery operations and construction activities, utilizing a comprehensive “manned + drone” patrol model to strengthen the power grid’s security.
During the summer planting season, the frequent use of agricultural machinery, including rotary tillers, harvesters, and pesticide-spraying drones, presents potential risks. In response, the company has proactively organized inspections of power transmission and distribution lines that cross farmland. Reflective warning markers have been placed on towers and lines that are vulnerable to machinery collisions. The company has also distributed “Power Facility Protection Notices” to machinery operators and conducted on-site briefings to educate them on safe operating distances and the importance of avoiding power line corridors. Drone surveillance is being used to quickly identify potential hazards posed by temporary structures or piles of materials near power lines, with local authorities working swiftly to address any issues.
Furthermore, the company has organized staff to visit rural markets, agricultural cooperatives, and farmlands, promoting awareness of power facility protection through banners, on-site demonstrations, and other outreach activities to raise public awareness of power line safety.
Currently, seven emergency repair teams are stationed in Neixiang County, equipped with repair vehicles, generators, lighting equipment, and other supplies. These teams are on 24-hour standby to ensure a quick response to any sudden outages.
Moving forward, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company will continue to strengthen its prevention efforts by increasing patrol frequency and taking comprehensive measures to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid throughout the summer.
