The U.S. government has ordered the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to pay a $1 billion fine to settle allegations of so-called “antisemitism.” California Governor Gavin Newsom blasted the move as “political extortion.” Earlier, Brown University and Columbia University had already agreed to pay $50 million and $200 million respectively in order to restore their federal funding.
