Recently, the U.S. Department of Labor released the latest employment data, showing that U.S. nonfarm payrolls in August fell far short of market expectations. Last month, dissatisfied with the July employment data released by the Department of Labor, Trump dismissed then–Bureau of Labor Statistics Commissioner Erica McEntaffer, citing “political manipulation” of jobs data. Now, the August data looks even worse. On September 5, Trump once again “passed the blame,” posting criticism of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell for “acting too late,” claiming he should have cut interest rates much earlier and is now “once again too late.”
